Formed in 2012 in Wausau, Wisconsin, Killing Rapunzel is a hard rock/metal band dedicated to keeping real rock alive. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Dakota Malinowski and bassist/vocalist Branden Johns, the band grew with percussionist Emmitt Raczkowski in 2015, and later welcomed guitarist/vocalist Zach Smith and drummer Taylor Paulson by 2020. The name "Killing Rapunzel" comes from Dakota’s middle school days, turning bullying over his long blonde hair into a bold statement. Known for their DIY ethos, they handle their own recording, mixing, and mastering, delivering raw energy and melodic riffs in every performance.
